NBA Playoffs: Cavaliers Crush Magic in Game 1

Donovan Mitchell Shines in Cleveland's 97-83 Victory

Cavs Take Early Control in Eastern Conference Semifinals

The Cleveland Cavaliers opened the Eastern Conference semifinals with a resounding 97-83 victory over the Orlando Magic on Saturday night. Donovan Mitchell led the way for the Cavs with 30 points, while Franz Wagner paced the Magic with 22 points.

The Cavaliers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. They led by 12 points at halftime and extended their advantage to 20 points in the third quarter. The Magic made a late run in the fourth quarter, but the Cavs held on to secure the victory.

Mitchell was efficient from the field, shooting 10-of-19. He also added five rebounds and four assists. Darius Garland contributed 19 points and seven assists for the Cavs, while Jarrett Allen added 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Wagner was the only Magic player to score in double figures. Paolo Banchero, who averaged 22.8 points per game in the regular season, was held to just 10 points on 3-of-12 shooting.

The Cavaliers will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Magic in Game 2 on Monday night. The Magic will need to find a way to slow down Mitchell and the Cavs' offense if they want to avoid falling into a 0-2 hole.
